Overview

NomadVillage® is a digital platform that connects digital nomads with rural communities, facilitating:

  • medium-term stays (typically 1–6 months),
  • cultural experiences,
  • rural coworking access,
  • and local product sales through the VillageBox marketplace.

NomadVillage® acts as a digital, financial, and service intermediary. It is not a real estate broker or real estate agency. Contracts are entered into directly between the relevant parties (guest and host, customer and experience organizer, buyer and seller, coworking user and coworking operator), while the platform provides listing, discovery, booking, customer support, and payment processing infrastructure.

Domains operated / owned by the brand:
Globalnomadvillage.global (gateway now; main platform later)
Spainnomadvillage.es
Portugalnomadvillage.pt
Additionalnomadvillage.eu · nomadvillage.fr

Note: When mandatory consumer rights apply, they prevail over contractual clauses. The platform’s role and responsibilities may vary depending on the specific service and applicable law.

General Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

NomadVillage® operates digital services through multiple domains, including nomadvillage.global (gateway and future main platform), and country-focused domains such as nomadvillage.es (Spain) and nomadvillage.pt (Portugal), as well as nomadvillage.eu and nomadvillage.fr.

The platform connects digital nomads (guests) with rural communities, facilitating medium-term stays, cultural experiences, rural coworking, and the sale of local products through the VillageBox marketplace.

By accessing and using NomadVillage® websites and services, you acknowledge and accept these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

2. Services offered and platform role

NomadVillage® acts as a digital, financial, and service intermediary and is not a real estate broker. The platform provides discovery, booking management, payment processing, and support tools. Contracts are entered into directly between:

  • Guests and hosts/property owners for stays;
  • Participants and experience organizers for cultural experiences;
  • Users and coworking operators for coworking services;
  • Buyers and vendors for marketplace transactions.

NomadVillage® is not responsible for property maintenance, property management, or the performance/quality of third-party services provided by hosts, organizers, coworking operators, or vendors, except where mandatory law establishes responsibilities that cannot be excluded.

3. Stays (medium-term rentals / stays)

3.1 Property verification

Listed properties may be verified in two ways:

  • On-site verification conducted by a NomadVillage representative in certain locations; and/or
  • Remote verification based on information, documentation, and materials provided by hosts.

Verification is intended to improve transparency but does not constitute a guarantee. NomadVillage® is not responsible for discrepancies between listed information and actual conditions, although it may assist with dispute management as described below.

3.2 Host responsibilities

Hosts/property owners must ensure that:

  • The property is legally eligible for being offered for stays/rental and compliant with applicable regulations;
  • Living conditions are safe, hygienic, and suitable;
  • All information provided is accurate, complete, and up to date;
  • The agreement entered into with the guest is honored, including check-in, keys, utilities, and house rules.

3.3 Guest responsibilities

Guests must:

  • Make payments on time as agreed on the platform;
  • Use the property responsibly, respecting house rules and local regulations;
  • Immediately report issues to the host and, where applicable, to NomadVillage®.

3.4 Payments, fees and commissions

Payments for stays are processed through NomadVillage® as an intermediary. The platform deducts its fees/commissions and transfers the remainder to the host according to the applicable payout schedule.

  • Guest fee: a one-time 20% commission on the first month (curation, verification support, operational handling).
  • Host fee: a monthly commission of 12%–18% on each monthly payment received (depending on the host plan).
  • Payout timing: typically within 48 hours after check-in, subject to anti-fraud checks, disputes, chargebacks, and payment processor rules.

Taxes (including VAT/IVA) may apply depending on the jurisdiction and on the nature of the service/fee. Where applicable, VAT/IVA is applied to platform commissions/fees rather than the full transaction amount, in line with the intermediary model.

3.5 Cancellation policy (stays)

By the guest:

  • More than 30 days before check-in: full refund, excluding non-refundable administrative fees (if applicable);
  • Between 30 and 15 days before check-in: 50% refund;
  • Less than 15 days before check-in: no refund.

By the host:

  • Cancellations without valid justification may result in penalties and/or suspension on the platform;
  • NomadVillage® will refund the guest and may attempt to help find alternative accommodation, when possible.

4. Cultural experiences

4.1 Operation

Experiences are offered by local residents or organizers and may include workshops, guided tours, gastronomy, crafts, and traditional events. NomadVillage® facilitates booking and payment processing as an intermediary.

4.2 Payments and commissions

NomadVillage® charges a 20% commission per booking. Payments are typically transferred to organizers after the experience is delivered, subject to dispute/chargeback policies and payment provider rules.

4.3 Cancellation policy (experiences)

  • Up to 7 days before the experience date: full refund;
  • Between 6 and 2 days before: 50% refund;
  • Less than 48 hours: no refund.

5. Rural coworking

5.1 Operation

Coworking spaces are located in selected rural communities and offer connectivity, work furniture, and communal areas. Access is provided via subscription plans.

5.2 Payments and subscriptions

NomadVillage® may charge monthly fees (e.g., €100–€200/month, or as stated on the platform). Subscriptions may auto-renew unless canceled in accordance with the terms shown at checkout.

5.3 Cancellation policy (coworking)

  • Cancellations before the start of the next billing month: no additional charges;
  • Cancellations after renewal: no refund, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

6. Marketplace (VillageBox)

6.1 Operation

The marketplace enables local producers to sell products to digital nomads and external consumers. NomadVillage® is not the manufacturer or the seller unless explicitly stated on the product page, and is not responsible for product quality, shipping times, or logistics, except where mandatory law applies.

6.2 Payments and commissions

NomadVillage® charges a 15% commission per sale. Vendor payouts may occur after buyer confirmation of receipt or in accordance with payment provider and platform policies.

6.3 Dispute mediation

NomadVillage® may act as a mediator in disputes between buyers and sellers. The platform may analyze evidence provided by both parties and suggest solutions. Final resolution may depend on vendor policies and mandatory consumer laws.

6.4 Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancellations before shipment: full refund;
  • Defective products: buyers may request return and refund in accordance with applicable consumer law;
  • Disputes are handled under the mediation approach above and any mandatory consumer protection rules.

7. Applicable law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by European Union law and the laws applicable to the service, the user’s location, and the place of performance. Where consumer protection rules are mandatory, they prevail.

Parties agree to seek an amicable solution first (mediation/negotiation). Unless mandatory jurisdiction rules apply, disputes related to the website may be subject to the courts of Murcia, Spain.

8. Privacy and data protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR and applicable national legislation. See the Privacy Policy tab for full details.
